The School of Drama seeks a dynamic and experienced voice, accent, and speech instructor to join our renowned faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, have a strong foundation in somatic approaches, and be knowledgeable and highly skilled in teaching and coaching Accents.
Responsibilities:
- Teach various courses, including first-year speech, third-year accents, fourth-year voice, and high school conservatory voice.
- Provide coaching support for productions.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development and other initiatives.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Participate in faculty governance, service, and creative research.
Required Qualifications
- MFA or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of teaching experience.
- Expertise in voice, speech, and accents.
- Strong foundation in somatic approaches to speech, accents, and voice.
- Knowledge of major vocal pedagogies such as Linklater, Fitzmaurice, Colaianni Speech, Knight-Thompson, Roy Hart, Rodenburg, Berry, or degree from Central School, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
- A commitment to student success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Directing experience
- Experience in a conservatory setting.
